askCUE PI

In this section you can find answers to:

What is askCUE PI?

askCUE PI (personal injury) is an enquiry service which allows approved organisations to check records held on the CUE PI database before they submit a claim covered by the Ministry of Justice’s RTA Protocol through the Claims Portal.

Where can I find more information about the service?

Information relating to the askCUE PI service, including details on how to sign up, can be found at www.askcue.co.uk

Where on the RTA CNF do I need to input the askCUE PI enquiry search reference?

The askCUE PI enquiry search reference number must be populated into the RTA Claim Notification Form (CNF) under Section A - ‘Claimant's details’. You can see what it looks like in the Using the Portal guide, Claimant Representative section B.2.3 Completing AskCUE PI

Do I need to add the askCUE PI enquiry search reference to a draft CNF created before the 1 June 2015 but submitted on or after 1 June 2015?

Yes. Paragraph 4.7(2) of the RTA Protocol states that the askCUE PI enquiry search reference number must be populated into RTA CNFs submitted on or after the 1 June 2015.

What function should I use if I wish to return a CNF because it does not have the askCUE PI reference on it?

Compensators who wish to return an RTA CNF because it does not have the askCUE PI reference should use the Reject function.**

This function will return the CNF to the Claimant Representative which will allow them to add the reference and resubmit it without having to create a brand new CNF.

It also means the time for investigation will start again on resubmission of the CNF with the reference in it. More information on the Reject function can be found here.

**If you are using the Reject function to return an RTA CNF you should add either a note or a letter using the Attachments/Notes function to inform the Claimant Representative of the reason why you are rejecting the claim back to them. More information about Attachments/Notes function can be found here.

How can a Compensator check an askCUE PI enquiry search reference number?

Information related to how a Compensator can validate an askCUE PI reference number can be found here on the MIB Services Portal.
